Help me build a hotel!

Say, Lil, just out of curiosity, do you know what the Esirpretne looks like? And if so, can you draw it and put it up somewhere?

Sorry, YK, haven't a clue. And I'm several commissions behind. I have to do some sewer monsters that I haven't finished imagining yet, and the Masque of the Red Rejection Email wants his cruiser painted, I never got round yet to finishing a logo for the Guardian Angels, and I think I have 3 mugs to do as well... But RL matters keep intervening...

Ah. Oh well.

I hope you'll be free to do something for the Three the next time the H2G2 birthday comes around. (And who knows? You may get to see a photo of yours truly.)

*2 days later. Chrome stumbles in from the twisted maze of logic that is Yahoo. His hair is wild and there is a strange look in his eye.*

I registered with GeoCities, but I can't work out how to upload images onto my webspace.

Aha, there you are! I'll ask my friend Redbeard if he can help you. You need an FTP program to move the image off your har drive and on to Geocities' drive. You can get a free trial of a number of ftp apps; check what geocities has to offer.

Chrome,

Lil, asked if I'd stop by...

I don't use GeoCities and each webspace provider is a little different, but start by going to this GeoCities help page
http://help.yahoo.com/help/us/geo/gfiles/
which walks you through using their filemanager, creating directories, uploading, etc. You can probably upload your images without using an ftp program by using their filemanager.

Make sure the images that you use are saved as either gif or jpg images, and that they are saved with a proper file name:
- don't use special characters *&/-#@'", etc.
- don't use spaces in the name
- make sure the name ends in .gif or .jpg
as in myimage1.gif or prettypicture.jpg

If you haven't already checked out the help file above at GeoCities, do so, and then let me know if you have any questions, or more specific problems and I'll be happy to help.

Redbeard

Thank you all!

Well, that's it. Lil, you can take the image off your webspace, as I have uploaded it onto mine. smiley - smiley

Once again, a big thank you to everybody - *sihifts into really sleazy insincere salesperson-type tone* and I hope that you might visit L'hotel Chrome http://www.h2g2.com/A370496 sometime in the future!

Thank you all!
