When Sundays stop being boring, I mean. It's one of those signs of growing up that Sundays are really excellent days, along with policemen looking young (senior policemen, these days), professional athletes younger than you retiring and realising that students now at university weren't born when you were there. (That one really hurts.)

Anyway, this Sunday looks pretty damn good to me. Had a three mile run before breakfast so I can be as lazy as I like for the rest of the day, which is good since I propose to be on my arse watching the Spanish Grand Prix for a chunk of it. My wish list - Coulthard to win, Button in the top five, both Jags in the top ten. (Stop laughing, BluesSlider, it could happen...)

Before that I may well brew up some coffee and have a restful smoke in the sunshine outside.

I shall also have time for an idle wander round the net, to restring the Takamine, and get a casserole started before we saunter off to the pub for an early doors bevvy.

Only simple little pleasures, for sure. But one of the benefits of getting older may be that they become the important ones.

That was Thought For the Day, brought to you by Morgan who has finally admitted that he's never going to amount to much in life so might as well enjoy the small stuffsmiley - smiley

Hmmm, re-stringing the Tak, eh? I am awash in waves of guilt, and what's all this about a three mile run? OK so I spent an hour riding my horse this morning, but I have no plans for re-stringing guitars.

You never know with the Grand Prix but I do think the two jags in the top ten is just a tad optimistic smiley - smiley.

Yeah, well maybe it WAS a little optimistic smiley - smiley But a good result for DC under the circumstances.

As to the running, well you may remember my announcing at our New Year before last dinner ("pass the port, old chap") that I thought I'd start running in an attempt get some of the blubber off (anything rather than stop drinking, you understand). And only 15 months later... smiley - smiley

Very impressive my old mate smiley - smiley At least the GP was exciting, I have little sympathy for what happened to Schumacher M., given the trials and tribulations Hakkinen had last season with wheels falling off after pit stops. I was also pretty impressed with the start from Schumacher R. but as brother M. proved - all's fair in love, war, and F1 smiley - smiley.

I gather that R & M had a full and frank discussion immediately after the finish smiley - smiley And I have to say that I wouldn't like to be the Ferrari lollipop man this morning...

It strikes me that was one of those sentences you never think you're going to say smiley - smiley

Oooo...I like the way you enjoy the small stuff! Great journal entry, Morgan. I kinda like being grown up, too...for similar reasons. Thanks for reminding me of them smiley - smiley

You're very welcome, Zmrzlina. I think the 'small stuff' is often under-rated in today's world smiley - smiley
