Do you know of any within two hours or so of Reading, Berks. I've been keeping my head down with work and moving house and as my daughter is away for the summer I feel like treating myself to some live music. Are you going to be performing anywhere in South England?

Hey, Eggnog, thanks for dropping in. You might be interested to browse here:

and have a look at their festival list. It's weighted towards the folk/world music side but there's usually some blues happening at most such gatherings. We aren't formally performing at any festivals this year - maybe some open mic sessions and so on, but I think the furthest south we're going this year would be Redditch & Warwick. Not what you'd call south, I suspect

Ta very much for the link. There is actually a folk festival in Reading this weekend - as well as Womad of course later in the summer.

Hi it' me again. It's Monday and I really enjoyed the Caversham Folk Festival last weekend. There was some good casual Celtic music in the beer tent and later some blues in a local pub. Resisting the merchandising tents was very difficult - there was a man selling absolutely GORGEOUS amber jewellry and I finally gave in and bought a CD of Egyptian bellydancing music. I was hoping I might make it to Womad this year but I've just seen the prices and I think I'll have to wait till next year and save my shekels.
