This is shamefully using your home page but anyway...a friend of mine at work would really like a recording of just the music for the song Die Erlkonig (hope I've got that right). She learnt the poem off by heart when she did German at school many years ago (as did I, but I don't remember it) and she would like to recite it to the music, without someone singing in the background. Do you know if such a recording exists? Thanks smiley - smiley

I'm delighted you feel you know me well enough to drop a question into my home page!
The only possible way of finding just the accompaniment of the Earl King would be on a Singer's "Accompaniment" disc - Music Minus One used to do these. Failing that, buy a copy of Schubert Lieder Volume One/Peters Edition (Any key) - and find a good pianist!
