Hi,

There are many errors in this Entry.

It is know that the Amiga was out by 1985 or so.
It was not exactly *made* by Commodore, but by Amiga Corp, who were bought by Commodore when then had no more money (the three doctors didn't want to put more money in this experience...). Then I think Commodore renamed to Commodore-Amiga and released the Amiga (later know as the Amiga 1000).

The first buyer of the Amiga after the fall of Commodore was Escom (1995-1997 I think). They restarted the production of A1200 and A4000 (Tower only?), released the Amiga Developper CD and did probably some other things.

Also the order of your list is neither by kickstart version (obvious) nor chronological.

Regards

Hi,

Do you have an Amiga?

Firstlly the Amiga 4000 came on three versions. Amiga 4000/30, Amiga 4000/40 and the Amiga 4000T.

I did this before inherited a MASSIVE pile of amiga mags.

I have an Amiga 1200/30 running at 50MHz and 16 MB of RAM and kickstart 3.0

If you have an amiga then tell me about it. You are the only person i know on the internet who has an Amiga (If you have one.)

Of course I have one smiley - smiley

Try doing a search on 'Amiga' here in h2g2, you'll find many articles (and many Amiga owners, probably).

Also try the newsgroups if you want to discuss with other Amiga owners : comp.sys.amiga.* (I'd avoid comp.sys.amiga.misc and comp.sys.amiga.advocacy, there are far too many posts per day and many uninteresting messages -especially csa.advocacy which is used by PC owners)

And last but not least, IRC : try #amiga or #Amirc.. (I don't know the english channels much, I go to french channels mostly)

If you want some Amiga news, try these sites:
http://www.realdreams.cz/amiga/
http://www.ann.lu
http://www.amiga.org

There are many others, but I don't want to list them all :-]
You'll find links on these sites anyway.

BTW my Amiga is an A1200, 68060/66, 32MB RAM, Pixel64, APNet PCMCIA network card, all in an E/Box tower with a 40.5 cm Acer monitor :p (I'm fed up with those inches measures smiley - winkeye )
