I went tromping all over over Wrigleyville today looking for an apartment. Found a few. One would be great for going to Cubs games and barbecues. The ones I really, really liked are, alas, occupied. Rats!

Wrigleyville?
Is that really what it's called?
Not named after chewing-gum, surely?

Indirectly it is named after the chewing-gum. Wrigleyville is the neighborhood where the Cubs play, here in Chicago. The field is Wrigley Field which is named for the Wrigley's who paid for the field and own the gum. There is also the Wrigley Building along the Chicago River and Michigan Ave. which is one of the most recognizable in the city. And most beautiful as well. It's funny though, I hadn't thought of the gum in a long time. Everyone here would probably think of the ballpark, building and neighborhood before the gum these days.

Cool. My wife's family is from Plymouth in the UK, where the UK Wrigley factory is - it's quite a big employer down there.
Small world, eh?

I'd say a very small world. You don't really hear much about Wrigley anymore and I so glad to hear about it in other places. It's such a "heart of the city" type thing here. Many times my friends and I just say to meet at the Wrigley building and there's no problem and no other directions needed.
