And what to my wondering eyes should appear...
PostMuse Posted Aug 4, 2000
I think you are right, Greg. I hadn't thought about shifting on the left...that would be hard to get used to. And I am probably one of those people who don't give enough attention to the art of driving. I make a better passenger than driver...it's the one time I am happier *not* to be in control. Though...if I had a lovely green Jaguar...I'd be a master artist

Don't give me any credit for my previous remark. I actually do think I'm at least aware of when I'm doing some stupid things driving, but I sometimes still do them, even as I'm yelling at the drivers around me for doing the same. I saw a stat one time that said some ridiculous majority like 80-90% or so of drivers think they're "better than average" which obviously cannot be.
I make a terrible passenger, though, particularly in the front passenger seat. (Get me in the back and I'll be paying less attention to that stuff.) When I don't have the controls, I'm always silently (or trying to be silently) second-guessing the driver. I don't know what he or she does or doesn't see and what the reaction time is.

I am the best passenger My daughters' friends were envious when they were learning to drive because I never got frazzled or watched every move like their parents. When my girls got comfortable with driving, I would just fall asleep

Glad to see you're a Jaguar enthusiast, Zmrzlina. One of the (very) many things I'll never forgive BluesSlider for is that not only did he get an XJS before I did, but it was only his first Jag. Mind you, these days he seems to prefer small sports cars so I might get my own back before long

There had better be only classical, blues and jazz music played in those sports cars you and BluesSlider fancy. Nothin' worse than pulling up alongside a beautiful car and hearing "Let Me See That Thong"...or worse, 70's disco!

Mostly blues with a little rock music thrown in for good measure , although Morgan favours the folky side of things . Most definitely *NOT* 70's disco. OK, so I traded my XJ6 for an MGF, but MG is another classic marque . I'm just waiting to see the XK8 parked outside Morgan's place, I think he'll get to that one before me .

Ooooo..topless Jaguar. Just my style But that little MGF is awfully pretty, too. I never actually think about owning a sports car, though. They are the stuff of fantasy for me. However...fantasy *is* a necessity

Oh yeah, definitely In terms of the XK8, fantasy will have to suffice until the used values come a little nearer to affordable reality. But one day, oh yes, she will be mine - I still carry my Honda keys on a Jaguar keyring just to keep the fantasy alive

That's what I need! A Jaguar keyring to carry my Buick keys! Although...if things have feeling, that keyring would be so embarrassed.
