You're under starter's orders... And you're off!

Hi there, and welcome to h2g2! Anyone who has a link to the "Sporting Life" site on their page is more than all right by me, although I must admit that I use it mainly for the football coverage!
Anyway: those rather grand-looking letters after my name stand for Assistant Community Editor. I and all the other ACEs are here to help if you have any questions about h2g2.
We have an ACEs Homepage - http://www.h2g2.com/A214796 - which is well worth a visit, since it features loads of links to pages where you can find out what's going on at h2g2 and how to make your page look cool. There are more useful links at the Newcomers Welcome page - http://www.h2g2.com/A5752 - and there you can also compare notes with some of the other new arrivals here.
Incidentally, you're not the only racehorse researching for h2g2. Look out for Lochangel!
I look forward to seeing you galloping around the forums here. I'm not sure whether or not horses eat fish, but here's one anyway. smiley - fish

Thank you for your kind welcome.

Perhaps you can tell me whether it is possible to customize our pages to give it a more column-y feel. I have always wanted to be a racing correspondent you see and I was sort of hoping that this would be a fitting place to live out my dream.

Lochangel? How is the old mare? And more to the point where?

If you go to Bruce's GuideML Clinic - http://www.h2g2.com/A187229 - there's advice on how to do all sorts of things with your page. One thing mentioned there is a "Boxholder tag", which divides your page into two columns with seperate headings. I strongly recommend looking through all of Bruce's page as there's lots of handy tips there - but if you want to go straight to the bit about how to do columns, http://www.h2g2.com/A252703 will get you there.
As for that fine filly Lochangel, http://www.h2g2.com/U47314 is where you'll find her personal stables. smiley - fish

Hello, Young Snugfit - haven't I seen you on TV? Would you like a carrot, or perhaps I might even venture a sugarlump?

Hi there Snugfit - you've got a really good home page. smiley - smiley

You can't extend your journal, but as the others say, you can change the look of your page to cover two columns. Pleased to see you here, can I make you our official tipster?
