Just thought I'd say hi.
I _do_ have a beard (but not sandals) and you sound just the sort of person who'll fit in very well.
Have fun!

Thank you y'all, looking forward to opening the oyster of my brain and attempting to find a pearl of wisdom! In the meantime, I am on a quest for the perfect omelette, so if any of you have any ideas? Thanks for the warm welcome though, am looking forward to this, so just off now to mentally and spiritually prepare myself!

If you want researchers to tell you how to make a perfect omlette, ask the question in the 'Ask H2G2' section at
http://www.h2g2.com/A148907
This section is designed for questions like that, and lots of people read it so you are quite likely to get a good response.
Hope this helps

Thanks Joanna Your page was the main inspiration though, so give yourself a pat on the back as well! As a matter of fact, if it is OK with you, I would like to reference your home page from mine, as there is a lot of very handy stuff on there? Must admit, I am warmed to the cockles by the welcome I have had here, is good to see a community that is so.....communal...
