Is the honours part legitimate, because I'm doing my honours year in Microbiology and (English h2g2) folk keep asking me what an honours year is. One woman who asked was married to a bloke with a PhD., so they should know the set-up. I was starting to think the system was different over there, so was pleasantly surprised to see (Hons).

Yep, the BSc (Hons) is for real! Although we don't have an 'honours year' as such... It's all to do with the grading of your degree, from what I remember...
