Get a spring loaded nose bandage from the chemist/sports shop and sleep with it on,
Lie on your side,
Don't drink alcohol in the hour or so before you sleep,
Clear your sinuses before sleeping with a Vicks inhaler,
erm... as a last resort laser surgery to strengthen your palate is possible - but I'd see if the rest helps first.

Raise the head of your bed.
Sniff a mild salt solution up your nose and spit it out if you're beginning a cold before you go to bed.
Lose weight - the fatter your neck the more likely you are to snore,
Vaporiser in bedroom
Synthetic rather than feather bedding

For some people, allergies are part or all of the problem. Closing the bedroom window helps in this case, as does allergy medication. Nose strips purchased at your grocery or drug store will also alleviate this problem somewhat.
For other people, snoring is a result of obstructed passageways in the throat. This is usually due to being overweight, so there is an obvious if not very easy solution. For other folks, the obstruction is actually their tongue which has gone lax. Sleeping on your side may help. There are also dental appliances you can get for $100-200 that will keep your tongue pushed forward while sleeping. To get one, see a nose and throat specialist for diagnosis and referral.
Finally, some snoring is the result of a very serious disease called sleep apnea. With sleep apnea, the snorer will actually stop breathing for a few seconds, then start up again. Ask the people you annoy with your snoring whether you do this. If you do, go to a nose and throat specialist to get tested. If you have sleep apnea, surgury to clear your throat passage will likely be covered by your insurance. Sleep apnea is occasionally fatal, so proper treatment is important.

as to the sleep apnea, my dad has that..., but instead of surgery, he has a mask he wears to bed at night...the mask blows air into your nose, and prevents the lack of breathing...i snore too, but it is just my allergies....if you chew about 3 pepermint altiods before you go to bed, the altoids clear your sinus passages, i dont know where you live, but altoids are available in the us and brittian...i dont know if you can get them anywhere else
