A Conversation for How do I...?

successfully send an anonymous valentine

Sending a Valentine gift or card is a fairly straightforward procedure. However doing this anonymously is very difficult. You need to ask the person, or a friend of the person where they live if you want to post it, arousing suspicions, and if you give via someone else, there's the risk they may tell them, or that the receiver thinks it's the middleman who has the crush. This dilemma has been causing me some concern so I would appreciate innovative yet practical ideas that have a chance of success.
From a grateful person.

You could always try stalking your victim.

see http://www.h2g2.com/A254260 for an example.

Have you tried looking in the phonebook, and if that fails, there is the minute possibility that you could find the information you are looking for on the internet.

Best idea have a friend you trust somewhere else in the Country/World. In this e-Age not a problem. Have another friend/relative you trust write the card. Send them the card with correct stamps on it and get them to address it for you and post it. End result they have no idea who sent it because of the different writings.

Alternatively be out of the country and get someone to send it for you from home when your not there.

Or do it on-line from an e-mail account they know nothing about. Create a new ID after all most of us have several anyway. smiley - smiley

WHY should Valentine's Day cards sent anon. anyway? OK, there IS that bit of making an absolute ass of yourself.

But what if you change the handwritting/etc. as mentioned above - the person is barely affected (s/he would realise that SOMEONE is interested in her, and would most probably "look around" to see who. If s/he catches you, YOU'VE GOT IT MADE (unless you look like the kind of vile moss nobody is interested in). HOwever, if somebody ELSE is interested, and s/he catches him, HE'S got it made (and for the next three weeks, nobody would be able to convince you that fe/males are NOT the most despicable creatures on the planet)

BTW, from personal experience --- it's almost useless trying to find someone online ... the only places you have a chance are on ICQ.
