How do I get back into h2g2 after a prolonged absence?
Some things have changed since I was last significantly active (maybe two or three years ago) and now I'm looking to get involved again. I don't think I'm up for much entry-writing (not yet, at least), but I may need a little help with getting back into the community.
So what's going on nowadays? And where? h2g2 is a bit of a maze, as I'm sure you all know, so finding my way around again is actually more difficult than I thought. I'm talking about just getting back into things generally... Any suggestions and friendly advice welcome.
Thanks!

Y'know... I have no idea. I've only just started spending time here again.
*shrug*
I guess looking at Ask is a pretty good way to go, maybe at The Forum if you're up for some debate instead. Peer Review is probably going on if you're up for some editing, I expect... and my favourite... random clicking!
See, no help at all. Good luck.

It looks like you haven't kept your old account either. So there's no taking up your old conversations (even though the conversation list is now allowed to work properly again after a reduced service)!
Just because you think you're not up to entry-writing (yet) needn't mean you're not up to entry commenting. So you could still have a look over at PeerReview and see what's jumping and what has had no bites at all.

Yayhay! the conversation list is back to normal length? - Must and have a look.
As for your questions, Andreos Picaros - if you've posted, you're in!
What's the problem?
Basically, now you've obviously survived single sign on, you have to tread carefully with profanities, not troll, not spam, not flood, not spit. But you'll be so busy reading up stuff, you won't have time for that anyway.
There's a meet coming up in October, as far as I know.
Unfortunately, you can't search conversations any more.

Ask has kinda been split up; more conversations are in Misc chat now; and the 'Games room'; now has most o the games type stuff that used to be on Ask a few years back The forum has some more in depth serious discusion threads But the best way to get into things would be to come to the Autumn meet: A13222847 ... but I would say that Hae you tried searching out people you used to know on here and see if they're still about and catch up with em?

Ah, much obliged. Yes, I think I'm beginning to get back into things. It's going to be a fun process. I think the next thing to do is to sort out the personal space.
Thanks all.
