Hi dont know if i,m on the right page, for the question i,m about to ask, but if theres any 1 out there who knows a bit about the law, can they help to answer this 1, I shared a property with some 1, we both paid the rent and all the bills split between the 2 of us, we had individual tenancy aggrement,s, when i left some of my personal things were left behind in the loft which was locked by the other tenant, the other party will not let me have them, is there anything i can do to get them back, i was told there was no way he could stop me, as we were not living as a couple, and he had to release any thing of mine as long as it wasnt a year since i left, this person has a real nasty attitude toward me, i have sent him mail asking for my thing,s but he has ignored this.
Pleases some 1 help. smiley - rose thank you.

2legs - Hey, babe, take a walk on the wild side...

If this is in teh UK, then it would probably legally go though a small claims court, which would cost a little to get going, but hopefully once going, would frighten the person concerned to just give you your things back...

Your first stop should be the Citizens Advice Bureau (CAB). It is a government organised charity. The volunteer workers are trained in various aspects of the law (as it applies to the typical questions they get) and many are retired professionals from various fields anyway. Their advice is completely free, they can write "nasty letters" for you and they can sometimes arrange for your initial consultation with a practising lawyer in the area to be free or at a minimal charge too.

Thank you for your speedy reply, going through the small claims would cost me, and i am on income support, due to a health prob i dont think i would have any head way with that as the person in question has money and is clever with word,s.
but thanks again.

Hello Sef,
Thank you for your reply, i think you might be right about getting help from CAB, only hope it dont take to long, as the person i,m on about is so clever he would even remove my things then deny they were even there.
thing is they are only junk to other people, but to me they are treasures of my children and grandchildren. and the person in question is related to them. smiley - groansmiley - grr, thanks again.
