I am a past and now a NEW member. I've been through the FAQ's but no help there.
How do I find my ORIGINAL login name and password for the old h2g2 site? I have contributions, entries and conversations there but now I can't get to them as I've lost the all important piece of paper with my login name and password.

I am sure Abi or Peta can sort it out for you if you ask them nicely. They will send an e-mail to the original address under which you registered. You then should be able to login under the old name.

Better to ask Peta than Abi at the moment, since Abi's on holiday.
