for a few reasons the main two are that it is advertising which is not alowed, the second is that pokemon compleatly offends me. Think about it; little kids running around trapping animals in little 3 inch balls. After catching as many as they can they train them to fight. not for defence as one might train a dog to rip out the throat of a burgler, but for fun. it endorces cruelty to animals by making it seem ok to put your pets into spaces smaller than the animal. Also if a kid trained his dog or cat to fight other pets he would be considered a delinquent, but with pokemon its ok. Also, the creaters of pokemon forgot one little thing- animals and people arnt immortal- when charizard frys pikachu ash should be in tears and digging a grave. pikachu should not cutely go "Pika" and blink a couple times. Also those idiots from team rocket should not only be put into prison for life, but in real life would have been killed in nearly every episode.
the pokemon comercial with "pika-pooch" proves my point exactly. the kid straps a pikachu mask on his dog and then acts suprised when the dog wont go into the pokeball or use his "thunder-jaw" attack
this show is total crap, the card game has no machanics- if you want to play a real ard game that isnt won after 3 or six battles and requires real deck construction and stratagy id suggest magic: the gathering. the only mildly entertaining thing to come out of this fad is the game boy game which i lost interest in after about two days. every aspect of this fad has a better under-rated alternitive
if you like the card game, try magic, its much more fun and less repeditive. there are actually decks out there-good ones too- with no creature cards. i dare you to make an effective pokemon deck without any pokemon
if you like the show, try watching digimon, i like it alot better, it has better characters -who actually give a crap about their monster counterparts- and the kids actually are doing something worth while instead of running around trying to catch monsters they are trying to save the digital world from a series of trants.
if you like the vidio game, id suggest monster rancher, it has the same idea, get monster's and battle them, but it has much more depth. its based around the tournaments, not running around catching monsters. you get your monsters from music and other game cd's. you can also breed (well actually combine) two monsters together to make a new stronger (or weaker monster, depending on your luck) it is sugested that you save before atempting this, for while its the best way to get good monsters its also the easyest way to lose them.
and finally if you like the toys, get a life man, your 14, you should be out with the laddies, not staging a battle between sqirtle and gigily puff.
well thats my two cents, and if ive turned a single person away from pokemon im happy. and BTW im not some old dude, im 15, about your age, i outgrew stuff like pokemon when i was about 8.
