Six!
Mustapha, I have begun a project that will guide people through the maze of the cultural movements underway on this site. I took it upon myself to write an advertisement for the Historical Society, but I would appreciate it if you would look it over, since this is your club, and let me know if you want to make any changes/deletions/comments/insults. It's over here: http://www.h2g2.com/A270325
And for anyone else, if you run a club, or belong to one that belongs on that page, let the appropriate authorities know about it, would ya?

Granted, the authorities shall be warned, one way or t'other!
And since you were so gracious as to advertise it, I announce Mustapha Initiated Debate # 3, with a very topical piece of history.

Hello there
on my (only submitted) article, someone suggested (I quote):
"I hope it will be included in the Historical Society links, too."
so, if you want to add http://www.h2g2.com/A247222 please feel free to do so.

Hello there yourself, Ændr! Welcome to the Society.
Just took a peek at your Entry, and I'd be more than happy to give it a link.

Hiya Mustapha
Check one more vote for the newsletter! Sounds like a great idea.
I have been avoiding offering (OK, I have a wimpish/lazy streak), but I reckon that I could do the article on Charlemagne that you have asked for. I have a fair amount of stuff on him, and I have taught a class on him recently ... so I accept it as my duty as one of the Dark Age historians in the HistSoc to provide the needed piece!
The Soc seems to be going swimmingly well. Proper job!
Cheers
Bran.

Hiya Bran! How's ya been?
Thanks for commenting on the spring cleaning (albeit in autumn) that I've been doing around the place.
The Prominent People section and the list of Past Links of the Week have been given their own pages, significantly reducing the amount GuideML to go in the event of a hiccup.
And by all means, feel free to do an Entry on Carol Magnus, I'll post a link to it the moment you finish typing. Myself, I have temporarily bypassed my lethargic streak and gone and written 3 Entries in the space of a fortnight! (Mohammed, the NZ Pie and Invercargill)
Also it seems one of TPTB has gone mad and sent my Entry on Attila to the subs after only 6 weeks.
Watch out for the hHS (h2g2 Historical Society) Float for the h2g2 Parade!

By heavens, I almost forgot, Bran, any views you may have on the Kosovo Crisis Anniversary, share them in MID#3.

on Getting to the Isle of Wight.
Also, some of my articles have been Approved since I added the originals here. Would you like the Approved numbers instead?

Fear not, guys. I've been keeping a close eye on things and all those Approved Entries will be updated tomorrow with the next batch of Entries.
That Isle of Wight Entry's a good one, Bluebottle. In fact, it's given me an idea for an Entry of my own - cheers for the inspiration!

I was thinking of an Entry on the history of the Cook Strait ferries. They've been buzzing back and forth between NZ's North and South Islands for quite a while, and recent technologies have changed the nature of it somewhat. Plus the more modern craft have been having their own unique problems.

"Like so much vomit over the bow, these are the Ferries of Our Lives..."
(well, of my life anyway)
Indirect references to Cook Strait ferries can be found in my entry on NZ Pies.
