The girls did not even know I was out of the country.
Shopping is a good hobby. This strikes me as being a very funny place for a web cam. Lady Godiva is supposed to have ridden nude on horseback through the streets of Coventry.

Mari-Rae might join us soon, and then I'll give you both some more scenic places of the UK. Do you like mountains?

I love mountains. I was going to leave a link to this forum for Mari-rae myself. She's going to love it here.

Welsh mountains for you.

Sorry about the weather. Wales is often wet. Even if it's fine there might be mist on the top of the mountains, but on a clear and sunny day it's a beautiful sight. I've been to Snowdonia once, but many years ago.
If it gets too bad to see, they have old views of what it should look like.

It's beautiful Coely. I was lucky enough to visit during a sunny day! So far, I think Cornwall has been my favourite.

I have another beach for you soon, but I'm waiting for better weather. In the mean time I'll take you to the Lake Distict. Have you ever heard of the children's book "Swallows and Amazons"?
The camera is on a hotel looking over the Lake District

I'm sorry the tour is jumping about all over the UK. If I had planned it better it could have been in order. Never mind. Are you following on a map?

It's a lovely view. I am following on a map, so hop all over the place at your leisure. I have never heard of the book you mentioned. Does it take place in the Lake District? I really want to thank you for going through all this effort for me. I take trips back to the other sites, to see what the weather is like. The views are spectacular. I am making a special wish for you tonight, on a wishbone I have been saving. Someday it will be the right wish.

"Swallows and Amazons" is by Arthur Ransome, and is set in England of tthe 1920/30's. The children go off on adventures, no adults around really. I loved these stories as a child.
We have better weather in UK at last. I went to the beach yesterday!
Thank you for the wish. I leave my old job tomorrow, and although I am looking forward to the new one, it will still be an emotional day.

Are you going to miss your job, or the people you worked with? How long have you worked there. I have never really been sad to leave a job. Which is probably why I'm unemployed right now.

I started 8 years ago after not working at all for 6. I'll miss the people very much. I laugh everyday I am there. I will not miss the paperwork!
What did you do when you worked?

My last job was as a foreman/supervisor in an automotive parts factory. At first, I loved the job. After a while I let everyone's problems become my own. I had great affection for the people I worked with, but management didn't like how close I was with "the workers". Eventually, my own personal problems (mostly mental and substance related) caused me to lose my job. I really wasn't cut out to be the boss of anyone.

It sounds like you have skills that would be valuable in some jobs though. Something will come along I'm sure.
In the mean time, have another view of the UK!
This is Lowestoft in Norfolk. (Find London on the map and then go up and to the right). You can see the most easterly point in UK from the camera, and it tells you when to watch for our first sunrise every day, although you might have to stay up a bit late to catch it.

I've been here but it was about 8 years ago.

I've never been to Scotland, but there is a Scottish h2g2 meet up on the 5th August in Edinburgh. Have a look here:
http://www.camvista.com/scotland/edinburgh/capcity.php3
(There are 10 different views including the places they are going to, ie Princes Street, the Scott monument and the Gardens. The view changes every minute.)
or here:

(10 second streaming, but you can only really see this when something moves, like a flag or a person.)

I forgot about the time difference again. I'l have to check out Scotland in the morning.
Fortunately for me, My partner makes a good living at his job, so it's not necessary for me to work. I get to spend my days with my dogs and here at h2g2. I've been trying to think of a job that I would like enough. I get a small disability pension, for mental illness. I'm manic-depressive and my mood swings make it really hard for me to work> My behaviour is sometimes very erratic. I wind up in the hospital for a week or two at a time.

That's the nature of the beast though isn't it.
Do you find you are creative during the manic phase though? I have heard of writers, artists musicians etc who are able to channel the energy in this way, and don't like to take medication as they lose this aspect of it.

I know what you mean. The manic phase is is actually very appealing. You feel as though you can do anything. I have been on a downswing lately, so I haven't been around too much. My doc. has finally put me on anti-depressants, after a few weeks of trying different meds. I'm starting to feel better now.
I hope you are well. I missed you.

I missed you too, but I'm glad to see you back and feeling better. I've been very busy with my move and can't be around h2g2 for as long as I'd like. Soon I'll have to pack the computer!!! EEK!
I caught up with the Scottish meet up on a web camera inside a cybercafe. The picture I took was in the POST last week.
Not a web cam link this time, but a look at a pretty village in England. I went there this week:

You would love it I think.
