I can't talk...
Worthy Posted Aug 22, 2000
Hmm this is the type of talk that is making me dread taking A-Level physics next year/ September, its that that bad is it...?
I can't talk...
J'au-æmne Posted Aug 22, 2000
Degree level for me...
...its theoretically not that bad, I'm just interminably lazy and I hate doing things I have to...
Don't worry about it.

Oh right, that sounds hard, but sounds like a common problem, which area do you specialise in? Astrophysics? Quantum? or just generally.
I can't talk...
J'au-æmne Posted Aug 23, 2000
I'm going to specialise in Astrophysics, but the specialisation doesn't really come in until 3rd year, and I'm just going in to second...

ah ha, I've offten wondered about that...
Hmm you are damn quick replying to your forums, aren't you, within an hour both times, must be conincidence, i wonder if you'll get it this time???
Are you going to work for ESA after your course, or are you going to find your own little reasearch earner? coz that'd be real cool???
I can't talk...
J'au-æmne Posted Aug 24, 2000
I don't know. Working for ESA may be cool... but by then I may want to take a break from the whole 'physics' thing for a while... I'll have to wait and see. The other thing I'd really like to do is to be a charity worker - perhaps a campaigner for greenpeace... or maybe work for the UN...
& atm I'm online practically the whole time, there's nothing much else to do at home...

Well that would explain it then, unfortunatelly I don't have an unmetered service yet, and I should be spending my time doing far more constructive things, like my homework for a change, but i'd rather just chat to my mates.
Well that carear move certainly seems worthwhile, with a lot of job satisfaction throw in for good measure if you go down that route, a valiant cause indeed.
Hmm, do you mean 'home' home, or university home?
gotta go watch friends now
I can't talk...
J'au-æmne Posted Aug 25, 2000
'home' home at the moment. I was unsuccessful in getting a job, and most of my friends either have jobs, are on holiday, or are broke, preventing us from getting out much. I don't have any siblings to argue with, so not a lot to do...
I don't have an unmetered service either, however my mother feels sorry for me at the moment and I am making the most of it
I've not watched friends for ages....

Ah yes, the student with no money comes home for a feed, (no offence) i've seen my brother and sister do it many times, its amazing how much parents will give you if you come home once in a while, they are great like that, he he.
I'm sure you enjoy the other benefits of student life too though.
Hmm, well i'm sure you'll catch up with your mates as soon as you get back on campus, and start doing interesting student things again.
Well, i think i'm off to watch a film or something now, i buy too many videos, they are going to bankrupt me one day i swear, for all the good they do me.

J'au-æmne Posted Aug 26, 2000
Yep, no money and at home, thats me... they should give us grants not loans
But, thats what parents are for. Yep. They are banks and restaurants... I wonder if I'll remember that if I have kids...
I'm half watching the Rocky Horror Picture show atm, but I don't think I'll be allowed to continue for much longer....

mm, well its said that the fist half of your life is spoiled by your parents, and the second half by your children...
Hmm, well i remember when my brother and sister got grants, but that was only because they were both at Uni at the same time, then they got abolished, all of about 2/3 years ago, and lucky us, we get the bain of student fees too...
I like horror films, engage the mind more, but i like mindless action too, which is what my collection consists mostly off, apart from a few like "dead poets society" and "good will hunting" both of which i think are at the top of their genre???
Hmm, Brother, and sister in law have just been round, we played pictionary, great fun.
well anyway, off to bed.

Girly ol' me doesn't really go for action... with the exception of Bond and Star trek films, of course... actually, I will see action if its in the cinema and a sufficient number of friends of mind are going along too... then we can have a laugh at the plot.
I liked Good Will Hunting enough to buy it, though... it was a very good film. The other wierd thing was that since Boston is the only part of the usa I've been to, some of the places were familiar...

Yeah, I think that i'm only missing 2 Bonds at most from my collection, they have a thing about them. I've decided that I won't buy the startrek films with William Shatner in coz of him being such a selfish, fame seeking backstabber, although i do think that Kirk was the best captain. I have First Contact, and Insurrection on DVD, I like First Contact more, probably because of the borg pressence.
But at present my fav film is Dune, I think its amazing.
Hmm, off to paint my scale model of a Lancaster now i think.

J'au-æmne Posted Aug 28, 2000
I like Janeway. I think First contact was better than Insurrection... I never really saw any of the older ST films, though.
Its a shame Shatner was the way he was, his character was very charismatic on screen...

Yeah, he was good in the films, shame about him, Generations was quite good, but the more original ones are better than that, but agreed about First Contact being better than Insurrection, I think Ryker should be involved more.
I spend far too much time lazing about, I think i'd get out more if there was a half pipe somewhere round here. but anyways, off to do more lazing, eating, and more tele probably.
Its strange, all of my friends and me are still talking about results, but time seems to be passing strangly now, just waiting around till we go back to school, even though i've got my GCSE's it feels weird, do you remember that?
I can't talk...
J'au-æmne Posted Aug 28, 2000
I didn't like Generations much at all... I didn't like the plot, it seemed a bit trivial...
& yes I do know the feeling... kind of in limbo, after the results are out... You got all psyched up to receive them, to see how well you'd done, and after that.... I guess you feel a little flat in a way...

Yeah that seems to descirbe it, but I'm 16 on Thursday, so lots to look forward to anyway.
Hmm, I must do my preporation work sometime, but I'm just too lazy. That also applies to tidying my room, but I'm certain its easier to find stuff in your own mess, than a tidy that someone else has done, don't you think???
I can't talk...
J'au-æmne Posted Aug 29, 2000
Your own mess is so much better. I'm also little miss messy... you can now walk into my room, you couldn't until yesterday... but I can mostly find stuff.... because other people tidying always put things in safe places, and I'm damned if I can find where they are!
What are you doing for your birthday? & have a good one!
