So, we got no points in the Eurovision Song Contest (http://www.eurovision.tv)
I blame Tony Blair. And George Bush, but to a lesser degree...
At least Belgium didn't win, though...

That's interesting. I blame the fact that the song was sh*te and the girl sang the whole thing in a completely different key from the band.

She got better as she went along, IMO, although it was a bit cringeworthy to begin with, it wasn't the only one.
But the voting is so political, to be honest, I think that some countries could enter a mooing cow and still get douze points...

Well, to be fair, there are some absolute certainties in the voting. Greece always gives 12 to Cyprus, and vice versa. I was surprised that Cyprus gave points to Turkey though, that must be a first...

Quite. If Jemini had been the Cypriot or Greek entry, they'd have got 12 points at least, no questions asked.

Perhaps for next year's entry, we should commission Billy Bragg to write a song called 'Some Of Us Hate Bush Too, You Know'?

My theory is that it should be written into the contract of the winner of Fame Academy that they should sing it - because they should be used, by then, to performing live in public and singing in tune...

To be honest, I can't see that David Sneddon would have done much better. He might have sung in tune though...

Yes, but an in-tune singer singing "Some of us hate Bush too, you know?" may work...

I'm still not convinced that it was a political vote. Or non-vote. It may have had some influence on the result, but we certainly didn't do ourselves any favours.

Horah, what a performance! I can't belive that Austria got so many points, was that a song or a kids show?
For me it was the dancing with the swirly ribbon that won Turkey for me!

Like, Tatu deserved as few points as we got. Their song was so boring, the only reason for staying awake was to see if they did something controversial... and they didn't! And Germany's singer was scary...

I was disappointed with Tatu, they had the opportunity to do something outrageous in front of millions of viewers, and all they did was hold hands. They did call Germany's entrant a crusty old bag though.
