I just read http://www.bbc.co.uk/h2g2/guide/A531794 - Wicca - A Legacy of Persecution
I'd like to put a lot of the uses of the word Christian firmly into quotation marks, I think. I am a Christian, and yes I'd like for you all to be Christians too. But I'm not going to persecute you until you 'agree' with me because otherwise I'll kill you. Christianty, according to a book I read recently - 'What's so Amazing about Grace?' by Phillip Yancey, should not be running the state. It should in a way be subversive, as it was in the beginning of its life - Christianity is counter intuitive, and I think that a lot of things in history claiming to be it weren't.

Hey Joanna, long time no speak. Hope you are doing OK smiley - smiley. I just happened to be cruising by to see what you are up to and found this entry. I haven't checked out the article on Wicca yet but I just thought I'd say that your attitude re: Christianity seems pretty much in line with my own about Vegetarianism (and feel free to smack me if I'm wrong here), but it comes down to a personal choice. Sure, I'd love everyone to not eat meat (or fowl, or FISH{and yes, I *am* shouting about that last one}), but I'm not about to kill them because they don't.

Anyway, hang in with the subversive thing smiley - smiley...Oh, and can I have a P&M smiley - smiley?

Hi BS smiley - smiley *hands over P&M smiley - donut, which looks pink due to a strange trick of the light in the forum*
Good to see you again smiley - smiley

Yeah, that is pretty much my attitude. Its like, I'm willing to try to explain to you why I believe and why I think that you should too, I'm willing to find you other people to talk to and other books to read and so forth, but at the end of the day its a personal choice, its your conscience.

I'm sure you would be willing to educate people on the evils of battery farming etc, which if we didn't have in this country would have I guess made the whole foot and mouth thing less bad...

I'm often tempted to become properly vegetarian. But I currently don't have the necessary cooking skills to ensure that I continue to eat a balanced diet...

Sorry to step in, (saw you were online with knowledge of DNA)

I'm just feeling dippressed as I prepare to do my first radio program, dedicated to DNA, I think.

My answer is to become vegetarian and a Christian. The best of all the worlds. Good food (spiritual and physical) and good well being.

Coofing veggi is really easy, just get a wok and your there. A wok is for life, not just for christmas.

Hey Yeliab
Don't worry about butting in...
I have cooking for myself issues. atm I rely on fish for protein, but sometime soon I'm going to seriously look at the whole vegetarian thing.. although not until after my exams...

Fish, yes that's a biggie. In till recently I did eat fish. My mum insisted that I did for my protean, then she went on holiday last summer and I thought, yeah like I'm ever going to eat fish again and havent. Uni's just inproved my vegetaerianism and I'm alot better, like no choconeal (sp?) (red sweet colouring made from ground insects!).

It is just so easy, and me food is much better then everone else on my floor (they always marvel at it). Protean could be a prob, by I just eat loads and exercise alot. Guess I get is from... don't kkow really.
