Thank you, I think so too. And nice and short, Mr One Wayne Craig Hugh Owen, which is a bit more of a mouthful. Yes, just occasionally unfortunately. But perhaps more in the future. The computer at home is crying out for a modem, I can hear it now...
How long have you been on H2G2 then?

one~X~ace~WayneCraigFredericks Posted Dec 10, 1999
Oh, ten weeks I guess?
Oops, Oh No, I better feed the cats!

Emerald Posted Dec 10, 1999
How come you're on during the day? Or are you somewhere where it's not day?
If not fed for 10 weeks I wouldn't bother now.

I call myself a writer and so don't have to work.
In truth, feeding and letting the cats in and out,
is a full time job.

Emerald Posted Dec 10, 1999
You must have a lot of cats in that case!
So you call yourself a full time writer eh? Of the random poetry sort or the long-term novel sort I wonder. Do you have a night job or something to keep you going?

Random poetry is a perfect description,
at least at present I'm afraid.
I work at Foxboro stadium for the New England
Patriots, Revolution and concerts, i.e.
U2, Rolling Stones and Dave Matthews.
but I smile so much my face hurts.
Just Amber and Hobbes but they really enjoy
going in and out.

Perhaps you should try making a paper smile and sticking it on with bluetac or something. Face ache can be a problem, as can having to smile a lot when there's nothing to smile at because then when you're really happy you end up smiling the grimacey sort of stuck on smile you've got used to....
Have you thought about giving your cats their own house keys? (Or perhaps a flap?)
Emerald is pretty
one~X~ace~WayneCraigFredericks Posted Dec 10, 1999
You know, I have thought a catflap
would save me a lot of time. I'm still thinking.
The smile is genuine..I swear. And I've
used up all my bluetac sticking barmats to the walls.

I have returned. Did you miss me?
So anyway, I started on h2g2 in July, got interupted by moving to france from england in august and rejoined about two weeks ago,
One Wayne is right though, Cats eat all the time, and poo, and play, and sleep, and they get to live that sort of life 9 times, lucky buggers!
My best friend collects beer mats, she has 128 of them.
Needless to say she is a hopeless alcoholic (kidding, there is a little hope!)
anyway,
a tout a l'heure mes amis

Welcome too from Kake, don't let work get you down...
I also happen to know a pretty girl who wants a modem at home! I think the internet is great unless you're _paying_ for all that useless information!

Surely it doesn't cost huge huge amounts....? Anyway, this pretty Emerald has a job...

Hey, did you have a good weekend? I was H2G2less for a few days but I'm back! Hurrah! Have you read Through a Glass Darkly by Jostein Gaarder? I've just this minute finished reading it... it's really sad and touching .... I feel a bit confused about what it was all about though. I sometimes wonder why writers write things... is there any keys to understanding your writing for instance? Your poem on your web page sounds good but I don't really understand what it's describing..... I find it hard to interpret random strings of words into meaningful communications...
Pippa! Nice to see you back! I would talk some French to you but my French is limited mostly to Eddie Izzard quotes... Are you enjoying life in France? What do you do with your life?

Morningem,
Sunshine on Emerald this day?

Hi Oneway, no, it's raining today. I foresee rain until the weekend in fact. Or at least rain from 8-5 every day anyway. Have you been anywhere interesting online today?

Pippa, The Garlic Munching Doughnut Posted Dec 13, 1999
Well, To be honest Em, not a lot. I go to college here, but I don't yet do all the lessons as I'm just getting to grips with the French, but next year I'll restart as a French student, study for three years, do my Baccalaureat and then (hopefully) go on to a college in Strasbourg to study to become a glassblower.
At the mo though I just help around the house getting things sorted out and getting ready for Christmas. It's weird over here, 'cos, over in England the shops have probably been doing christmas/new year related things for months, here they started at the beginning of Dec. However the lady accross the road still hasn't taken down her Hallowe'en decorations....
It's very laid back. I love it here.

Emerald Posted Dec 14, 1999
Hi Bluebottle, how is life down in S'ton? Doing lots of Christmassy things with Peregrin?
Emerald is pretty
Bluebottle Posted Dec 14, 1999
I thought you knew all that sort of thing...? But yep, I've had a Christmas meal with him - which he didn't burn - and we went to the H2G2 Christmas meet up on Saturday/Sunday. Peregrin is a really bad cook most of the time - well, that's not true, he can cook food well, it's just he's not good at cooking saucepans etc... But his Christmas meal was delicious!
