Just a side line to your very well wwritten article. In eastern Canada, particularly in the Charlotte county area of New Brunswick, there have been several credable sightings of what appears to be an Eastern Cougar. I personally have seen such an animal at close range (about 50 meters)and have no doubt it was a cougar. As for it being and actual Eastern Cougar, I could not say for sure.
