There is only one palindrome I can ever remember and that was taught to me at school. Supposedly, it was said by Napoleon Bonaparte upon his first sighting of the island he was to be exiled to.
"Able was I ere I saw Elba"
Personally I think its a load of nonsense. I mean, if I was going to be exiled on an island, the last thing I would be doing is spouting some palindromatic nonsense in a foreign language.

Apparently the first words man ever spoke were in the form of a palindrome. When Eve was first introduced to Adam he greeted her by saying: "Madam I'm Adam." Well believable, assuming of course that we accept the fact that they all spoke English.
