When I was younger I read a lot about Buddhism. I was captivated by one line of thought
in particular.
The Buddah said (and I'm para-phrasing here) that if a person was to go to every place
palce on earth, touch, taste and smell everything, then that person would have
a small understanding of a hint of what enlightenment was.
So taking him quite literally and being of an adventurous spirit,
( I would rather have teeth pulled slowly than sit under a tree for 40 days and 40 nights),
I set off to do just that. As a result I have expierienced quite a lot. Many countries,
many people, quite a few answers, and even more questions.
However, it was not until this past summer, in eastern europe
when a beautiful baby girl was borne, to my wife and myself, that the ultimate answer
(which I had known all along but for some reason refused to believe), became clear.
It is best summed up by another of my favorite writers, Richard Bach,
" Life is and Love is all that matters."
It may not sound like much of an ultimate answer to others but then others are free
to have their own ultimate answer.
For me it fits just fine.

What a truely cool place the earth is... where else in the universe (that we know of)
can WE (the human race, souls etc.) be so free to have so many different beliefs,
or lack thereof. Be free to be masters or slaves, rich or poor, happy or sad,
(well you get the idea), and where we get to do whatever we want.
oh wait a minute I was thinking of Disney World... nevermind.
