Hi guys,
I just thought I'd dash of the users this morning as I usually do, only to discover that, probably due to now being part of BBCiD, there were about three times as many people to welcome. It usually takes me less than five minutes - today it took about fifteen.
It might be a one off, but it oculd be a problem in future. We may have to ask for some sort of button that filters for h2g2 sign-ups only (if possible), as at the moment 90% of those I ACEd are for 606/Religion/Archers etc. and are both confusing to those people and a waste of time for us.
Can we keep an eye on it and see if it becomes a problem?

This link will only show h2g2 researchers online right now:

Indeed. I do pop onto it every now and then to check that they've all been ACEd (sometimes they post to their own Spaces so drop off our lists).
As that feature can tell that they are specifically h2g2 users, I hope it can use that info to select only h2g2 users in the the 'New This Week' list.

I'm onto it now
Well done on picking up that one who posted to her own space BTW
I'm going to continue welcoming everyone on the list for now (unless instructed otherwise) There's always the chance that someone might be tempted to "stray"

For some reason, the thissite=1 only seems to work for the pop-up online researchers' list, not for the new users page

Perhaps we should ask the Eds for their advice?
Last night I ignored all those posting to other boards, but it will cause a problem soon when we try to find those who need ACEing in between

Sorry, I can't do any aceing at present. It took me 15 minutes now to sign in to reply to this post.
Sam said that all the newbies shown have visited hootoo after creating their account. I tried to do some aceing yesterday, but with each page taking ten minutes to load, then another ten minutes to post, I gave up after a few. Most of those I managed to open the PS were from other message boards anyway and hadn't posted to hootoo, so I left them well alone - no matter whether they had a look at one page here on hootoo or not. As long as they don't post here, I just assume they don't have an interest in being a member.

Well, if they've at least had a look in here I don't mind ACEing them. I may have to restrict how many I can do though, drop back to pre-iD levels. I'm sure we'll be okay though.
Worse luck, B'el. It's tough being in your shoes at the moment.
