h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

I posted the following to an ACE, "RunningDog3 U1534068 hasn't been ACE'd and doesn't seem to have quite got the hang of things like the difference between her message centre and her journal... I would unofficially ACe her myself but hootoo won't let post her a msg direct. Hoping you can help her."
...they advised me someone with more experience might be able to help better. That's because they can't post there and because they noted that the person I though could do with some ACE advice originally joined DNA communities via POV. Even though she may be from POV she's taking part here as much as any other hootooer, so I think she deserves a good ACE greeting and some guidence on how best to use the guide.

You just need to agree to the terms and conditions of the POV site to be able to post.

Everyone here seems to be a bit confuzzled...

Firstly I'm Kam or 'Vander' not "Vendor".
Second, I'm pretty sure I'm already signed up to POV along with most of the DNA comunities and it's not helping. As happens quite abit even though I'm signed in under SSO I still get a "greetings unknown hiker" msg. Rather than an offer for me to sign up to the other community.

And it's late and I'm tired and have forgotten what the third bit of tripartite list was...

Oh yeah, Terri is saying she's the one that passed the problem on over to the rst of the ACEs because she wants someone with more experience to take it on, not that she has it hand, lil.

If 'RunningDog3' or anyone else from POV, or any other BBC Message boards would like to contibute and participate on h2g2, the best way of doing that is to register with h2g2, they will then receive an Ace Welcome.

(I think 'RunningDog3' has now registered with h2g2 as I was able to post Welcome message on her space )

As Aces our hands are tied until they do this. We are not able to post on non-h2g2 pages, and we are not allowed (orders from *above*) to post our Welcome messages on non h2g2 pages.

I seem to remember seeing somewhere that POV is only available to post on during certain times, when the POV moderators are around. If I'm right, then that would probably be why no one can contact Running Dog. If I'm wrong, then I dunno...

You are correct Amy, about message boards having opening/closing times, they also have different rules (so I've beed told) another reason they need to register with h2g2.

As I tried to post on her space earlier, I was lurking on 'Stats', and read the original conversation, couldn't post then, and could later, I assumed RunningDog3 had registered with h2g2. Wrong again!
