as well you know the same people are going to help

Although I too have been less than discreet with some of my postings on the ACEing subject in the past, I do feel that it is in the overall interest of the site that ACES appear to be a united and friendly bunch.

Many folk - not just ACES - subscribe to the homepage and for this reason I think that general or specific comments on the ace scheme should be restricted to an offsite discusion on the yahoo forumsmiley - ok

I understand frustrations but threats of abusive posts (even if slightly tongue in cheek) could be misread and would certainly not be looked upon favourably by anybody involved in the scheme.

smiley - 2cents

I totally agree, Mort. We've all discussed various topics here that probably should have been discussed in the Aceforum and there is nothing wrong with getting the lazy ones to do some work but doing it on a public forum such as this probably isn't the best way.

A couple of tips -

"Free Beer" as a subject will always get peoples attention!! smiley - laugh

And always start a new thread for each help request as once the threads get a bit chatty then some unsubscribe.

Posting via the yahoo group may mean that people online but not onsite will be alerted to the newbies request earlier - and may visit the site specifically to do a few, otherwise they may not visit h2g2 for a while only to find they are all done.

When asking for help remember that it may be hours before some see it - ie timezones etc - so give everyone a chance smiley - ok

PS Happy Easter smiley - chicksmiley - bunnysmiley - choc

The only problem with posting on the Yahoo forum is that a lot of people get all their postings in one go at the end of the day so by the time they get the posting the list should, I say again SHOULD have been cleared

I think it's best to post both on the Aceforum and on here, starting a new thread each time. That way nobody has an excuse and the Italics can monitor the situation better smiley - smiley
