Gone again

Hi Aces!

I'm a new researcher, and I would like to know how I can see a list of recently-submitted guide entries. Not the approved ones, but those that have just been submitted (for comment?). I'd like to scan through them; perhaps reply, who knows?

I don't know how to give you just the ones that were submitted recently (like this week), but it is possible to see all those that have been submitted, but not yet approved. Go to http://www.h2g2.com/index, pick a letter, then uncheck the boxes on the right so only the 'Entries Waiting Approval' box is checked, then hit the 'refresh' button over by the check boxes (not the one on your browser).

At the time of this posting, there are 666 submitted entries awaiting editing and/or approval -- plenty to visit and comment on smiley - smiley

Hope this helps.

Hi, I'm new and one of your ace people sent me here.
So, now I'm here, what do I do?

Welcome Zaphod and Pattern Chaser!

Actually, there are a million things to do. I hardly know where to start. smiley - smiley

As far as people sending you to this page, yes, this is the page of the ACEs (assistant community editors) who volunteer to help newcomers learn the ropes and try to answer any questions. I'm sure one or more of them will drop by your page if they haven't already. And if you have any questions, you can always post them here (or just about anywhere on h2g2!)

Suggestions:
Read some of the approved guide entries and get a feel for them, and start thinking about what amazing thing you can write to include in the guide (well, it doesn't have to be amazing...)

Visit some of the clubs and forums, read the threads at the bottom of the page to get a feel for the atmosphere and then join in and introduce yourself. You'll find that most people here are a friendly bunch.

If you're into design and html-type stuff, play around with having fun with your home page. There are some good tutorials and information on using GuideML.

Visit other people's home pages, by clicking on their names at the top of a post (like mine above), or use the 'who's online' link to visit people currently on h2g2.

For links to all the stuff I mentioned above and more, here's a quick reference guide http://www.h2g2.com/A344756

Let me know if you have any other questions. If all this confuses you, but this fish in your ear. smiley - fish
