All you have to do is promise h2g2 your firstborn child.
No, ha-ha, just kidding. What you really need to do is go tell Peta (the Community Editor) that you are interested. Try this page:

The current ACEs were selected for their contributions to the h2g2 community. So, after you tell Peta you want to be an ACE, get out and interact with your fellow researchers. Say hi to new researchers and point them towards useful pages (the ACE homepage, the guideML clinic, the subeditor guidelines page, etc.). Join some of the clubs around here. Start your own club. Help anyone who has a question on anything..........
In a word: participate.
