Hi. Someone has posted to this un-ACEd newbie (U5739876 ). As I understand it, that’ll knock them off your list.

Well, yes, it will - for those of the ACEs who only bother to check one asterisk * researchers - but there are a few ACEs who actually check *all* new researchers..

yep But if people didn't post to newbies until after they had a Ace welcome then the checking all would be more or less redundant
"but there are a few ACEs who actually check *all* new researchers"
bare in mind Thats becouse the few Aces who welcome have to welcome more than 1 newbie and can be doing 2 or 3 pages just to keep up to the ones that are on the list

To be honest, I don't think I would fancy checking all the asterisks on a permanent basis.. that would drive me crazy!

Hardly probable as, as anyone who's ever checked the two** newbies will know, in 95% of the cases, the first posting on their page has been made by the researcher hirself..

Quite, and pretty time-consuming as well - so guess why, after checking them, I leave those with only one asterisk to be ACEd by someoneself else? Because I *know* they will be picked up, that's why.
Oh, unless there are any one asterisk newbies who've been waiting more than 24 hours, then I usually pitch in..
