360 is kinda like h2g2, as is SOP. SOP is different as it is split into regions. You can still greet new 360 and SOP users as you'd normally do, but i normally keep things more general - I explain who I am and that I'm from h2g2, and just basically say if they need any help they just need to reply. There's no point giving them the h2g2 welcome, but a lot of them do come over when an h2g2 ACE welcomes them.

Sense of Place

Here is the Ace greeting for Sense of Place Sites.
I'm asking you, the Aces, to use the following greeting to welcome newcomers who register for DNA via any of the A Sense of Place Communities. Please feel free to personalise the text, so that it doesn't read as an automatic message, otherwise people will think that you're a 'bot'! Please also personalise the text by region, so where it says: '...and this site is concentrating on [insert either Devon, Lancashire, London, Northern Ireland here].' choose the right region and delete the other options.
The basic recommended greeting reads as follows:
---
Hello there XXXXXXXXXXXX.
Welcome to A Sense of Place! It's good to see you here.
Let me introduce myself, my name is XXXXXXXXXXXX. I am an Ace (which stands for Assistant Community Editor) and I'm part of the team who have volunteered to pop over and personally welcome new people to the site - we're here to help you in any way we can!
A Sense of Place is a living guide to Britain, and this site is concentrating on [insert either Devon, Lancashire, London, Northern Ireland here]. The people in the community here are building the guide with our own stories, reminiscences and personal histories. You can find out more about the Sense of Place Community on our <./>About</.> page. Read it and hopefully you'll be inspired!
If you'd like to contribute some of your own thoughts and ideas but are not sure where to start then you might like to read the <./>Contribute</.> page. You might find the writing guidelines helpful too; you can find them on the Writing-Guidelines page. If you want to add something to the guide, then just click on the 'Add an Entry' link in the left-hand bar at any time.
It can all seem a bit overwhelmingly large to start with, but if you have any questions please feel free to ask and I will do my best to help. You can contact me by hitting the reply button below or by visiting my space by clicking on my name above (this works for everyone all over the place). Just jump on in and explore - the people here are very friendly.
I look forward to hearing from you and to seeing you around the community.
Have fun exploring!

Also read the description of DNA, which describes the relationship between the different DNA sites:

As we've realised that following these links as they are will lead straight back to h2g2, we've put this Post up as an entry here - A726419. If it's copied into a forum, the links will automatically change to the correct pages for the site it's posted on.
I've also added the suggested greeting for 360 newbies, as it's a good idea to keep them all in one place.
