Is h2g2 going through a dry patch in registrations or do I just logon at the wrong time?

Have you tried going back through the New Users list, maybe 6 weeks? 2 months? There should be some late-activated pages

And no-one says you can't greet anyone who's already been greeted!
The more greetings, the better!
(Maybe not so much fun for you, though...)

Or you could check out what's going on at Peer Review and offer a critique of a few entries sitting there
Also kats-eyes has finally returned to h2g2 from the 'big foop' and could do with a welcome back. I believe at one time she was an ACE and I'm sure she'd appreciate a bit of .

OK, thanks for your help. I just thought that perhaps I was doing something wrong.
Thanks

Let us know what conversations you get into
You could subscribe to "Ask h2g2" while you are waiting, and jump into older conversations there. Refresh some really old ones, that's always good fun.
Definately read some Peer review entries.
You learn so much!
Have you written any entries yourself?
Such a buzz, especially when you put your own entry into Peer Review.

I'm not really here Posted Jun 28, 2001
Go back a few months, there are loads there, I greeted quite a few that hadn't been done. Ok, so most of them haven't been back to h2g2, but think how happy they will be when they do get back. I registered, activated my page, then forgot about h2g2 for over 6 months. Unthinkable I know, but I would have been happy to have seen a welcome when I got back. I registered before the ACEs were invented, but if one of them had gone back to older accounts I would have been found, all lost and lonely...

Hi Anne, welcome to h2g2
You haven't acvtivated your homespace yet so nobody is able to post to your space
Just click on the edit button on your homepage and type some sort of intro (you don't have to write much at all if you don't want to).
You then get allocated database space on h2g2 and we can come and greet you

I was floating about in Guide Space, all lost and confused, when along came a knight in shining armour...well, I think it was armour, my eyesight's not too good in the wee small hours!
I thank you, Ottox {Ace, Guru, Lurker} for all your help and for the belated ( but no less welcome) greeting!
OK, I'm off to play with my fonts!!!!

Hi there - Researcher 181027.
Welcome to h2g2
Unfortunately we can't come across and greet you at the moment because you haven't activated your homespace.
Slick on the edit button on your homepage and add a little intro - it doesn't have to be much (or anything really) but until you do noone can post to it
Bye for now.
You seem enthusiastic so I'm sure you'll fit in well here

And as for the text game...
There's a web-based version at DouglasAdams dot com but you can't save it so make sure you've got plenty of time when you start playing it.
