I had great trouble explaining this to my fellow bingo players on Friday. 'You went to London for the weekend and drank a lot of gin, much of which was paid for by a man you had never met before, in the company of other people whose real names you did not know and others you had met only in Germany or France?" Yes, thank heavens for Gnomon!
I didn't tell them that, although I have been on the site since 1999, I only managed one right answer in the quiz.
I had a wonderful time (many thanks to Sho)and finally unpacked my suitcase yesterday - a week later.

It was great tht I finally got to meet you, but being seated at the opposite end of the spiral arm of the galaxy didn't make for easy conversation. Pencil me in for the next meeting

Thank you for the Lincoln Cathedral anniversary book, which arrived this morning! I do wish I could have been at the meet, but, as has been said, it really wasn't possible.

My first ever meet was with five German fellas, all hitherto unknown to me. Didn't strike me as odd at all. Maybe I'm a bit naive, but no axes were involved at all, even though 2 of them were wood specialists.
