h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

For the first time in my life I have packed a suitcase more than once.
Years of practice mean I can pack my red cloth extendable to 20kg exactly, but as I am doing a Manchester to Dublin to Hong Kong round trip, winter and summer clothing had to be included. So for the first leg I took a second case with me. The combined weight was EXACTLY 40kg.(ie 25kg+15kg)
Second leg starts tomorrow - Dublin to Amsterdam to Hong Kong and even with a few prezzies, the weight for the trusty red is only two stone, so I'd better buy a couple more books.

I also meant to say thank you for the Christmas card. I didn't send any - no excuses, I was totally unprepared for an annual event, and now I've lost my address book so there won't even be any New Year cards (but maybe Lunar new year if I find it by then)

< ashamed face > No towels, not even face cloth size. I am currently sitting on the bed in my friend's spare room in Hong Kong with an enormous IKEA bath sheet swathed round me. My friends have similar ideas of luxury to mine and my family are still using their expensive wedding present ones. Don't let anyone else know; I don't want to be forcibly removed from the site.

Whenever I'm travelling, I always have a small hand towel in my hand bag or in the outer pocket of my holdall or case. I hate those hand dryers which is what you mainly get at airports.
