My "twin daughters" were born 39 years ago in the 7th Day Adventist clinic in Blantyre, Malawi. Lack of scans in African hospitals in those days meant that Gordon's very energetic pre-birth movement had the midwife preparing for twins and everybody "knew" they'd be girls.
A friend with the same blood group stayed off the alcohol for a few days and smuggled in a thermos of G and T the following day when we'd managed without his armful for the Caesar.*
Yesterday I received a very pretty Lunar New Year card with apologies for the lack of sheep. Next month I shall be either 12 or 72 depending on which calendar we're using
*I can't remember whether it was Malawi gin or Gordon's.

Aha, another Chinese goat/sheep. We chose to celebrate the year of the Goat/sheep this week on the Front Page, but there's a distinct lack of goat entries in the actual Edited Guide!
I turn 60 in May so I've come full circle this year. My #2 daughter and my mother are both Chinese goat/sheep they're 96 and 36 respectively this year.

Baa to all you ladies. Why are you up so early? I hope nothing is wrong.I think of you often and hope you win enough to reinstate your wheels.
If your 60th is half as much fun as mine (I hired the Empire Bar in Hong Kong - now alas in a new incarnation)you'll have a wonderful time.

and welcome Sho, and wonder if this is serendipity considering I got on a bus in Cleethorpes yesterday and immediately thought of you
Nothing is wrong Wand'rin I just got up to go to the loo at about 2am and then tossed and turned for a couple of hours, eventually gave up as I could hear the in my back garden - at least I have 24-hour 'net access and there's always someone to talk to on Facebook
I have nothing planned for my 60th, Ian is talking about taking me away for a weekend but it won't be *that* weekend as it's a Bank Holiday
