I have been trying an entry a day for October to see if I could join in November- no go: it's only 11th and I've already missed three days,

I love biographies, autobiographies and memoirs. And I've read a lot of them. Yours would be up there with the best of them.

AlsoRan gave us some enjoyable snippets of her time in Rhodesia, and left us wanting more 
You have also travelled extensively and lived in many places most of us can only read about. You must have many a tale to tell, and still leave us wanting more!
