On Monday evening there was the most almighty thunderstorm here in HK.The following day's papers said it was the most rain in one hour for four hundred years. How did they know? The Observatory's only about a hundred years old. And if they're back projecting, why not 4 thousand or 4 million?
On Tuesday the ATM rejected my English credit card.
Today (Friday) it rejected my local cash card. Summat wrong with machine? Alas not - the magnetic strips have gone on both of them. Why? Same handbag, same wallet as I've been using for at least a year. I've had the local card for nearly 8 years.
How do I get a new credit card? How do I buy an expensive wedding present without it??
