So, what do you think about this year?
White Christmas I bet, at least around here.

OhOh! I'm starting to have doubts.

No snow this Christmas, at least around here, I lost a buck.
Hope it snows before people take their lights down.

GidgetGirl Posted Dec 27, 1999
We had a tiny bit of snow Christmas Eve...not enough to stick on the ground, though. Late last night it snowed some more. It still didn't stick to the ground, but there is a thin layer of snow on the ice of the lake by my house...it's really beautiful.

Wow, cool, I didn't know.
I've spent a lot of time on and about lakes,
sometimes frozen but mostly not. I know they're beautiful.
Here it's almost four miles to water of any decent size.
But there are frog ponds within peeper hearing distance.

Just thinking about buttercups again.
How are you? How is your summer weather?
Have you been swimming yet?
All is well at this end,
I'll be back soon en francais.

GidgetGirl Posted Jun 20, 2000
Well, summer weather here is a bit odd. It's been either raining or really hot. I have been swimming, and unfortunately there was poison ivy around the edges. I got it so badly that I haven't gone to work for 4 days. It's finally getting better, though. How are things with you?
Do you get Animal Planet? It's a channel I get on my satellite dish. This week is Croc Week, and they're showing a lot of the Crocodile Hunter. If you haven't seen it, you should. It has an Australian guy named Steve who wrestles with crocodiles and picks up snakes and that kind of thing. Very amusing. A'bientot!

Actually this is a bit of a sore topic for me, I taught Steve everything he knows about Croc wrestling but do I get any of the credit, Noooooooo! Not even a thank you card.
But otherwise, sorry I haven't been around, travelling alot, and then the site started looking funny. Let me know if you're still checking out this space and if so I'll write you something nice.
Sorry to hear about the poison ivy, I caught some from my cats.

GidgetGirl Posted Jul 29, 2000
Well, I will at least thank you for teaching Steve. Even if no one else does, I know the truth, and I appreciate you.
My summer has been rather busy. I've only been home long enough to sleep. It's crazy. On Sunday, one of the guys I work with is going on vacation for a week, so I'm taking care of his animals for him. He has an iguana, a guinea pig, a cat, a fish, and a *huge* macaw (I think I spelled that wrong). It's pretty much one of the biggest birds I've ever seen. And it's so loud! I don't know how he lives with the thing. I'm half scared that it's going to bite my finger off or something.
Have you ever heard of the Dead Milkmen? I let my friend borrow one of their cds, and I just got it back today. I love it. I wish they were still together. I would have loved to see them perform.
I'm a bit tired, so I think I'll go. Hope to hear from you very soon...I miss talking to you.

Hey 'cupper~ You know, I don't know the Dead Milkman. I'm looking always, but maybe more so today for something new. I trust your judgement, what can you tell me?
Dead Milkmen
GidgetGirl Posted Sep 8, 2000
What can I tell you about the Dead Milkmen? Well, were shall I begin? They're a band that was formed in I think the 80s, possibly late 70s. Their heroes are the Shags, a band I've never heard of. They sound like a punk band, and I don't know if you'd consider them that or not. Some of their songs talk about stuff they don't like ("The Thing That Only Eats Hippies") a lot of them are funny ("Punk Rock Girl", a favorite of mine; "Bitchin' Camaro") I'm not really sure why they're so appealing to me, but I truly enjoy listening to their music. Out of curiosity, are you familliar with the Ramones?
I'm going to be housesitting again this weekend. i've been doing quite a bit of that recently. The change of scenery is quite nice. The dog I'll be taking care of is named Baby, and she is an incredibly spoiled shi-tzu. Adorable, but very spoiled.
The cat just yowled about something, and Lager started barking. This house is a zoo.
It's starting to get chilly again here. I had the day off on Tuesday, and I sat on the porch cuddled up in a big sweater and read a book for hours. It was so peaceful. I'm reading "The Green Mile." I really liked the movie, but the book is better. I'm not surprised though. That's usually the case.

Hey, man, do you know where I can get a copy of Big Lizard in my Backyard? That'd my favorite Dead Milkmen album, and I can't find it anywhere.
To change your name, go to your preferences. You'll find them on your page. It will have a space for your nickname. Just type in the one you want and hit ok or done or whatever the button says. You can also change your password on that page. Good luck!

TrulyCute. Thanks.
What else is new?
Great news!!
GidgetGirl Posted Sep 19, 2000
I got accepted to IUP's Academy of Culinary Arts!!! Woo-hoo!!! This time next year, I'll be in Punxatawney, learning how to become a real chef!!! I'm so excited!!!
I'm at Bug's house right now. Her cats, Skittles and Baxter, are in the room. A minute ago, Skittles was trying to catch the pointer. Now they're both on the floor, stalking each other. They're so much more fun than Henson. She just sleeps all the time, and never lets you hold her.
Have you ever heard of Orthodox Christianity? It's an extremely old church, they can trace their history back to the time of the apostles, and they haven't changed any of the traditions or customs. Anyway, I started going to an Orthodox church about a year ago, and now I'm taking a class about it, and after I finish, I may join the church. I'm pretty excited about it. I never really felt that great about the church I went to growing up, and I can't believe what a difference there is. In this church, everyone is truly worshipping God through the entire service, and with many of the people there, you can tell that they don't do that just at chruch, they are like that all the time. At my church, they were always doing things to make themselves look holy. I hated it. Everyone seemed so fake. I'm so glad I finally found a church where I feel I truly belong. Oh, sorry, I didn't mean to get all religious on you, I'm just very happy and excited about it.
Bug is, sadly, moving to the Boston area. The company she worked for got bought out, and her whole department was downsized. She's actually wanted to find a new job, and now she has the opportunity. I will miss being able to spend time with her, though. Now she only lives half an hour away. Soon it will be 10 hours. She's going to stay with my grandparents for a while, so she doesn't know what she's going to do with the cats. I've offered to take care of them, so hopefully I'll have a few more animals for a while.
Ok, this is getting long. I'll talk to you later.

Punxatawney eh? You know Groundhogs Day is my favorite movie and second favorite holiday. Guess I'll just never eat one of your meat pies. Seriously now, if I can, well done! Woo-hoo as you say. Congrats all around!
Sorry about your sister moving. But nothings forever you know, a few years back my brother was living in Houston Texas and my sister in Jacksonville Florida but they both eventually came back here to Mass. My brothers whole family was here Sunday and my sister was here yesterday with her new kitten KimbaLee. (You're too young I know, but Kimba was a cartoon white lion, came on everyday right after SpeedRacer when I was a kid. With your interest in Japanese animation you may know the show.) Now can you guess what colour KimbaLee is?
Get back to you later on Religion okay? I take it seriously too!

Man, I really miss getting together with my family. Because of work, I haven't been able to do that nearly as much as I used to. I haven't seen my mother's family in a few years, and her father is 84, her mother 77. I don't know how much longer they'll be around. Hopefully I'll be able to go visit them for Thanksgiving this year. My mom's whole family gets together then, and I love it. It's so much fun to talk to my relatives that I haven't seen in so long. (In case you haven't yet noticed, it doesn't take much to make me happy )
Have I ever told you about my boyfriend? I don't think I have. I just got off the phone with him, and when I got on here, it occured to me that I haven't mentioned him before. I know this is probably stupid, but I'm incredibly paranoid about giving people's names online, so I'll just call him Harry. We've been dating for almost 17 months now. He's in college as a music therapy major. If you don't know what that is, I'm not going to attempt to explain it. I'm not sure I understand it myself. He also plays classical guitar. He's a great guy. You'd like him. I'm really not sure where I'm going with this. I'm sorry if I sound like a doofus today. It's been a long day.

Harry eh? I think we've played cards.
Tell me something I don't know
And no you don't sound like a dufus.
Their voices always sort of squeak.
