The Ghastly Performances Game

No,ladies, I'm not talking about your old man.[]
WARNING: THIS AGAIN NEEDS SOUND I'M AFRAID. Many apologies to those of our friends who won't be able to access it.
I've been reading an article from The Independent on the worst cover versions ever.
I thought it might be fun to try this ourselves. From You Tube or wherever.
Let's start you off with this: Stairway To Heaven by Led Zeppelin. This is the original::
http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=tbA7bVouieI
And the cover version by Rolf Harris (included in an awful TOTP rundown from 1993)
Explanation - shows what a truly dreadful charlatan this popular performer is, with no idea about music and why it appeals to people.
1. To play the game you don't have to play both versions, unless you want to. Just the worst one will do.
2. It doesn't even have to be a cover. Just a rotten performance, very preferably by a professional performer, not someone in a back room, will do. Bizarre or subtle, as long as you explain.
Want to give it a try?

And if that doesn't do it, try Leonard Nimoy singing about Bilbo Baggins!

Nooooooooo explanation necessary!

Really bad remix of Cold As Ice.
Here's the original by Foreigner:

If you ignore the dated haircuts, Foreigner is quite good.

I really should have included this -- Elton John's Rocketman, for comparison.

Good video. Great song, at least in this incarnation.

My Heart is a Thumb, from Thumbtanic. Obviously making fun of Celine Dion. And here SHE is, singing My Heart Will Go On:

I realize some people hate both versions! But I rather like the "real" one.

Apologies for that one. John Ashcroft gives Shatner a run for his money in terms of sheer silliness. Yuk.

In a similar vein. Bless her heart, she tried.

My word, there's some freaky ones there JEllen!
My 'favourite' flesh-crawler must be John Ashcrtoft (who he?) singing way out of tune after dinner about how he LOVES America.
As one 'cesar190472' comments just below:

btw I used the wrong Led Zeppelin in Post 1, so amazed was I about Rolf Harris doing it. Here is the line-up of Led Zeppelin with Robert Plant, to set the record straight`;

I'd better give it a rest for this evening, or my sleeping neighbors will hate me! It's past 1am, and I have all this bizarre music playing, and me howling with laughter. Great idea Jabs!

Try this - Florence Foster Jenkins, the world's worst soprano. You won't be surprised that, as a super-rich heiress, she paid for each of her recordings herself. She thought people refused to record her out of jealousy that she was had so much money.
It's not a joke - she really thought she was good. But she's so bad she's famous. She used to give concerts, believe it or not.
Here is the real scene of someone murdering Mozart - forget Salieri...
Bet you can't listen to it all the way through!

You need an appearance by Mrs Miller in this.
Here she is doing the Lovers' Concerto

And here are The Toys. Compare and contrast.

Mrs Miller got me thinking about Tiny Tim, Jabs. Here he is with his monster hit Tiptoe Through the Tulips. I think the show is Rowan and Martin's Laugh-in

This performance is claimed on Youtube to be the original, from a 1929 movie:
