I like latin as a languge, though I have no intention in the immediate reality to go beyond two word phrases, let alone attempt to learn it!!!
The only reason I know any is that a carefully placed latin word or two, in the mitts of a group of people who have no idear what you are talking about, and everybody thinks your really smart! Its all a power game with me.

Hi Dolphin Girl (or Ave Puella Delphina) - I took Latin not just at GCSE but also at A Level. Lingua latina is not quite dead yet and with more people like you around, it won't be dead any time soon! (Off subject, I also used to play the flute, back when I was 8 up until 18, and got my Grade VIII.)

The Latin Language is a fundamental to all European languages (except maybe Basque) and I loved studying it. Vivat Latina! You Go, Dolphin Girl! Good luck with the exams, Bona Fortuna!

Vale, omnes!
