Correct me if I'm wrong, but when one takes a day off work it is meant to be a relaxing and soothing time (unless, of course, you're en route to hospital or something). The day started well and considerably later than a typical weekday due to a wonderful thing called a lie-in. And then the dog started barking and didn't stop ... for six hours. I don't know where he gets the energy. My theory is that he has a tape recorder hidden behind the sofa with various growling and barking noises - there's no other explanation. Or is there?
