From childhood I was always 'taught' not to eat cheese before bedtime. There may be a scientific reason behind this as cheese is rich in vitamin B6, which is important for the biosynthesis of the brain chemical, serotonin and dopamine. These two chemicals affect mood and our ab8ility to dream.

I really don't know about cheese and dreaming. I've gone to bed after eating cheese omelettes, cheese on toast or a cheese board for supper (not on the same day, like) and not had any problems.
I personally find that I'm more likely to have nightmares if I THINK I'm going to have nightmares. If I watch something unsettling before bed, get some bad news or just feel ill at ease, it tends to happen. Likewise, I've come to associate lack of sleep with nightmares.
Now that I've stopped believing in cheesy dreams, I don't have any problems. Except crumbs in the bed.
