In "http://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/h2g2/brunel/A908967" You give: " The second Earl Grey of Howick (1764-1845) ..... In 1860, he became Prime Minister, and remained as PM until 1864. " So far, not even Harold Wilson - for all his guile and ingenuity - has contrived to be Prime Minister after his demise. I wonder whether you may wish to amend the good Earl's dates to read "1830" and "1834"? Sorry to carp, but I enjoyed the rest of the item. :-)

plaguesville, old thing: well spotted! I can't believe I missed that mistake, and that no-one else saw it when the Entry was in Peer Review, being subbed and then being edited.
However, once an Entry is in the Edited Guide, the author can't change it. Only the Editors can amend Edited Entries, so if you spot any more mistakes in Edited Entries, the place to go is Editorial Feedback. I've posted a message there, and hopefully the Editors will fix the mistake.
I'm not so sure that you can't have a dead Prime Minister, though. Does Blair look alive to you?

Hmphh,
It's not easy to get decent staff nowadays. Let's hope this batch is better than the last lot.
On the practicality of correction; I figured it would need "staff" intervention but wondered whether they would refer to you, either as a matter of courtesy or to check that the suggested "correction" was indeed more correct than the alleged error. I hope that they wouldn't just take the word of any idiot and amend an article willy nilly. Expecting you to be inconvenienced in any event, I elected to approach you so that you could, if you so chose, twit them on their predecessors' chronological inexactitude.
I forgot to mention:
Good Luck with the job hunting.

Ah.
My omission of any reference to the current PM (good initials in the circumstances) should be regarded as nothing more than the effects of old age.
"Does Blair look alive to you?"
Well ... yes, compared with his wife, I think he does.
Key: Complain about this post
