Well it was the thought of you doing all that working out for the jump next week
My idea was you either got a lot of snow to shovel or had some cold water to swim in

Did you follow the falls jump? The snowball helped with the training.
We've spent the betting money on the 20th floor at the Sheraton Fallsview and are in the lounge bar doing karaoke at the moment!

Caught the action replay of the jump well done
I'll have to stop over and have a drink some time, the webcam pictures looked good.

Please do join in. You pop up all over the place. I do love web cams!
I am off to see the coelacanth at the nhm next week.

Starts to sing,
Round, round, get around, I get around
I enjoy browsing the site, looking at what other people are up to. If I'm going to be on for a while I'll open the users popup and go and see some peoples pages and maybe leave a message (it's how I found some fishy business )
If you like webcams, try this one http://www.firsthydro.co.uk/weather it's a bunch of cams round Snowdon and linked to a remote weather monitoring stations as well. I like it because I was at uni up there and spent many days going up and down the mountains. No doubt you've seen the trojan room coffee pot in Cambridge uni Computer Sci. dept. The first webcam, put there so the academics wouldn't have to go for coffee when it was empty
I'm sure you'll have a good time in the NHM. Suppose I'll have to go down there sometime and have a look round.

Thanks very much for the mountains. I remember how much you miss them, so here are some for you again. /\ /\ /I have seen coffee pots, fridges, cat baskets and people's offices etc on web cams, but I really like the outdoor ones best. I can travel anywhere. I even like the ones on street corners and traffic lights!
The nhm has one inside the tank with leaf cutter ants. I'll have as good a time there as it is possible with 50 teenagers to look after, but they are old enough to leave alone while the staff go for coffee and cake!

Phil Posted Apr 8, 2000
Just had a look at the ants, fascinating. I guess that they'd be easier to look after than a bunch of teenagers

LOL
Indeed. Ants would not complain about doing worksheets, try to sneak off for a smoke or wonder why they can't go to Oxford Street since it's only round the corner.
I've been to Llanberis I think. Is there a liitle railway?
Snowball
Phil Posted Apr 8, 2000
There are two little railways. One goes along the side of the lake (Llyn Padarn) and the other goes up the mountain (Snowdon).
The thing that I usually do in LLanberis these days is stop for breakfast at Pete's Eats. It's a greasy spoon run by climbers and in summer it's quite funny to see them serving in aprons

coelacanth Posted Apr 8, 2000
I did go there in 80's then. I think there might have been a small earthquake.
Pete's Eats sound like a good place!

Phil Posted Apr 9, 2000
They do get earthquakes up there. I remember sleeping through a couple when I was at uni
Pete's eats is a good place. Not quite so good if you're on a low fat diet though .

Let someone else order then. A friend tells me there are no calories or fat units at all in anything you pinch off someone elses plate!
