As an experiment I propped open the gate to the roosters' yard and just let them free range on the property today, since some of them were escaping through a hole in the fence anyhow. It was a successful experiment in that we didn't lose any roosters. Some of them wandered 30 yards or so, but that was about it.
The dogs had great fun helping round them up, too.
