Started planting shallots and garlic. These are crops we're planting a lot of, especially the garlic, where we're planning to overwinter six kinds. It's nice to have my hands down in the nice fertile soil here and to smell the aroma of the cloves as I break up the bulbs and push them under. It's nice, too, to think forward to next spring when this work is going to pay off.
