Friday night, approximately 8:30pm:
Kidnapped by two friends that I had not seen for quite some time. N, who just got back from BC (where she lives and just finished school) and S who lives (and has always lived) in Bradford so is very close to my parents house (but I still haven't seen her all summer). I don't really remember where we went. We did a lot of running around and ended up at one of S&N's friends apartments above the bar that N works at when she's back in Ontario. We were there for a while and then we ended up at N's house and stayed over there in bunk beds!!!!
Saturday morning, approximately 7:00am:
We got up around seven the next morning because N had work to do. I had already planned to meet another friend (L, who I hadn't seen in more than three years) at eleven. And I was sort of planning going out in the evening with T (another friend who I have seen the most this summer) but we hadn't actually decided. So I had a nice time walking around town with L and then we came here and watched What's Up Tiger Lily. Then I got a hold of T (who was very glad I called because she had forgotten that we were maybe going to go out that night but she really wanted to do something) and asked her if she wanted to see L because she hadn't seen her in even longer. So we went for dinner, bought a bunch of kids books at Value Village and dropped L at home.
Then I stayed over at T's because that's what we usually do when we visit. We very very rarely get to see each other because usually we're both really busy and we live in different places. It's rare that we're in town at the same time so it was nice to see so much of her this summer. She's about the only friend from high school that I actually miss if I don't see her. I mean, it's nice to see other people (especially S because we were best friends and practically lived at each others houses for years) but I could go without and not care too much about it. T is definitely a best friend though. She's on the same level as my cousin-in-law / bestest friend, maybe even a bit above.
Anyways,
Sunday morning, approximately 9:00pm:
Woke up and had some breakfast at Ts (I bet you can guess her name). Then she had to leave for work around 11:30 so she was going to take me home. Then she said "I have a thought. Do you want to stay? I work for six hours and then we can have a fire tonight and you can stay over again. I don't work Monday." I said "Sure! But I have to go Monday morning because I have to go to the bank to pay my school and then drive to Mississauga and bring them proof of payment and it's a loooong drive." We both agreed this was fine. Then I said "but what if I don't stay. I can go home and come back because I'm supposed to go out with my dad today". He wanted to go out Saturday to the driving range but I was busy so I promised I would go on Sunday. So then I went home, went out with my dad, beat him at mini-golf (on a playoff hole, he would add) and discovered that I still suck at driving. T picked me up after she was done work and we had a fire and roasted marshmallows and it was very nice.
Monday morning, approximately 8:30am:
Woke up, breakfast, got dressed, went home and my mom was sleeping still. So I took care of animals, woke her up and we went to the bank. I paid school, then went to school to bring them a piece of paper that was but wasn't necessary. It was very complicated and took a long time but it all worked out alright. On the way home we went to another Value Village and I bought more kids books. Then we picked my dad up, went out for dinner and contemplated more mini-golf. Mom wasn't into it so we didn't.
Now it's Tuesday and I'm home because I got a message last night saying that I don't have to babysit because their mom is staying home today. I'm supposed to be going to a movie tonight with T and L and I have $15 to my name. Since I didn't work Monday or today I will be short two days pay this week and it's my last week. So we'll see how that goes.
So far I have done nothing productive today. But the plan is to clean the hamster stuff, have a shower, clean the bunny stuff, clean the rest of the house and see what time it is. I'll have to stick food in there somewhere though.
Overall I had a nice weekend with some really nice moments. Now I just have to get off my butt and get some work done today!
Anybody else have a nice weekend?

I can't believe that you actually read it!
Does anyone else remember the days when I had less boring journals?
Hamsters are halfway done and one of them has already managed to roll down the stairs.

Ok, hamsters done. Bunny done. Laundry almost done. Ate a bit. Showered. Going out in about two hours. Bored for now. Methinks I shall post a list of the kids books that I bought this weekend!

Saturday:
Rude Ramsay and the Roaring Radishes by Margaret Atwood - how weird is that!!!
The Little Mermaid - the real story that ends in a stabbing
Sam and the Firefly by P.D.Eastman - very cute indeed
Animals That Live in Trees - 'tis a National Geographic book
Franklin in the Dark by Paulette Bourgeois (Illustrated by Brenda Clark) - I didn't actually buy this one. It was given to me because T bought it and discovered that she already had it.
And a non-kids book, The Metamorphosis (Franz Kafka of course) and it's is really good condition!!!
Monday:
Chester's Way by Kevin Henkes - with such great lines as "They circled Chester and Wilson and yelled personal remarks."
The Sleeping Beauty - my mom insisted that I buy it. It's not a very good version
Batman: Exploring the World of Bats by Laurence Pringle
Pooh Goes Visiting and Pooh and Piglet Nearly Catch a Woozle by A.A. Milne (Illustrated by Ernest Shepard) - original pooh and piglet book, very cute!
Arthur's Nose - Marc Brown
And a bunch of Berenstain Bears books...
Trouble With Pets
Double Dare
Go To School (going to give to the three year old I babysit because she starts school in September and loves the Berenstain Bears cartoon, she sings the song with me all the time)
And Too Much Junk Food (going to give to the five year old, or I might give him Double Dare instead)
And Too Much TV (definitely going to the oldest!)
And another non-kids book, Taste of India by Rafi Fernandez - hurrah for recipes!
That's my list, they were very cheap too!
Heeeeere's Listy!

Aw haven't heard of most of those books...
I recently bought the whole of the Brother Grimm's fairy tales. Very gruesome.....
As for reading..of course I did! I was curious as to what you were hinting at!

I almost bought a book that was called something like "The Conserving Kingdom" and there were two places, one was very clean and the other was very wasteful and messy. But I looked at the book and discovered that it was actually extremely religious and not in the best condition anyways.

Sounds like a great weekend & OOOOOOH all those yummy s!
Er, when you say the hamster rolled down the stairs, i get a bit worried. In my experience, hamster-rolling is rather cruel, though i suppose it could be quite amusing....
"now, Hammy, today we learn a new trick.Pretend you are a spineless hedgehog. You've done well on spinning wheels. Just tuck your paws in, put on this little crash helmet & get ready for FUN!Wheeeeeeeeeee! Down we go!"

She was in her hamster ball and decided it would be fun to go clunking down the stairs.
Today was my last babysitting day! But I forgot to give them their key back so I will have to go see them sometime and return it. I can drop off the picture that I told Alex I would draw for him at the same time.
I'm going home briefly tomorrow to pick up some mail, then I'm coming back here, then possibly going out with T or just waiting and doing something with her the next day. We shall see.
bye bye children

Sounds good! I hope the ball recovered. Some balls get Very Poorly you know, even without hamsters inside & they are oh, so, tiresome.

Aaah, and right after I posted that my brother comes in the house saying "It's raining like (H-E-double hockey sticks) out there". I thought "excellent, finally" because it's been teasing most of the day but hasn't decided to actually rain until tonight. So I decide to sit outside and watch.
So I'm sitting there on the porch with no socks on thinking that I want to go for a walk. Then I think "why am I thinking about this, I should just go". After all, this is not something that I can do when I go home. So me and my lack of footwear went for a short walk in the rain. Naturally it decided to stop raining halfway through. And it wasn't raining very heavily when I got off the porch either. I should have went sooner. My pants did get very wet, but that is mostly the fault of puddles. My shirt was more wet than I expected it to be though. I am now changed and am mostly completely dry. My hair is a bit damp and that's it.
My brother was very confused when he saw me crossing the street. He was leaving the house right as I was coming back. He says "Why are you walking down the street with no shoes on? Is Ben missing?"
"No, Ben's inside."
"So what are you looking for?"
Oh what a question! Anyone have an answer for that?
