That's funny. I'm spending the Millenium (minus one, if you pay attention to date semantics)
in Oosterhaut for the same reason - love. Maybe the people in that town are especially loving.
On the other hand, maybe I am just lucky to have met a lovely Dutch lady.

Congratulations to you, Evandar... sorry to have not been around to reply sooner.
Sadly, since you seem to be British (right?), you can't be the first male to overturn my theory of the mysteriously compelling attraction Dutchmen seem to hold for American women... I know, or know of, several (3) other women who have woken up on what was otherwise an ordinary day, and pretty much acquired a spouse by sundown, due to the amazing... whatever it is they've got.
Ah, well..
I hope to be around the Guide more often in future, so feel free to keep in touch.. it'll be nice to have someone to say 'hi' to at the supermarket...

My gf would not agree with your assessment of Dutch men - she thinks Englishmen are far nicer. I know a few American women who might agree. All the same, each to their own. I hope you had a good time in the Netherlands.
