A Conversation for Bill Hicks

Bill made a difference to my life.
To my eternal regret I did not find out about him and his work until a year after he died.
There is plenty of his work on the web. Good music and video shops stock most of his titles and there are more to be found at http://www.billhicks.com .
If you want your mind opened then open up and let Bill in.
You won't regret it.

I found Bill Hick to be excruciatingly funny when I first saw him on TV. I've since seen a couple of his videos and I'm convinced that the man was an absolute genius at exposing the idiocy of our society. I have been profoundly affected by his challenge to inform myself about issues rather than listen to what the media would have me believe.

Get all his albums... Arizona Bay can be left til last (the music is a little annoying) but everyone needs all those albums... essential...

I think I'm the only person in the world who likes the music on the records. There are some great downloads on the web, I found a piece of film with Bill backstage somewhere singing the song off (I think) 'Arizona Bay' that has the line 'she's got a broken heart', it's beautiful. BillHicks.com is great but even better is 'Dark Times'
http://www.cvis.psy.utexas.edu/sacredcow/darktimes/frame1.html
which has videos of TV appearances, interviews etc. I don't think it's been updated for years but it's still ace.
Bill Hicks is the only person I still wish was alive, much more so than somebody like Lennon (that's not a put down), that brand of intense honesty is so rare (ok lets say extinct), it's almost confessional, an outpouring of love/hate/wonder, I think he saw the world as a once beautiful place made ugly by beautiful people who in turn are made ugly by their own ego's and stunning greed. Or maybe thats just what I think. Easy to forget he was a comedian and, as comedians go, nobody has ever made me laugh longer or louder.
